This is cardwords, a linux card game.
cardwords is a customizable crossword game. It uses cards showing characters and points. The players place their cards on the card-table so that they form crosswords.
cardwords is documented: A generated html version of the user's guide is included in the file doc/userguide.html.tar. Simply untar it to be able to read it with any web browser. It explains how to compile, install, and run cardwords.
