Package: zence-0.75
Zence is a small program, at the moment in Postscript but may in the future be ported to Perl, that generates random text. Word forms, morphology and occurrence of certain letters and/or letter combinations are configurable. The author uses it for generating words to be used in artificial languages, but with the correct set of parameters, it may also be used for generating text that is supposed to look like an existing language.
Example parameter files are included. These still need a lot of tuning.
Please note that the current version expects a4-sized paper by default. That is because this is the only size the printers in my country will swallow. You will need to edit the papersize if you are going to use a different size of paper (e.g. letter).
- Usage
cat zence-params-<language>.ps zence-<version>.ps | gv - cat zence-params-<language>.ps zence-<version>.ps | gs - cat zence-params-<language>.ps zence-<version>.ps | lp -d $PRINTER
Alternatively, you may include the parameters in the main zence.ps document. This is the preferred method if the combined document is required to follow the Adobe Document Structuring Conventions.
There is a parameter 'hardoutput' that you may turn off to have zence print its output to stdout.
