/ WELCOME TO MAED /

1. What's this maed anyway ?

MAED is intended to be a math problem solver. It tries to solve problems both using numerical and symbolical methods. It has a Lisp like programming language. Using it, the user can define it's own functions, make some simple programs. The main idea is to show the intermediate steps also, when solving problems.

2. Where can I obtain it ?

3. What is with that stupid name ?

Now a bit of history:
The first name of the program was mad (math and demonstration). But demonstartion wasn't the right word for it, so it became `Math And eDucation'. When I made the program public (uploaded to sourceforge) there was a small problem: there was also a project named `mad'. I had to find a new name. Because nothing better came into my mind, I decided to use the name `maed' (Math And EDucation). Well, in latin there is a letter, the combination of 'a' and 'e', so maed can be pronounced similarly to mad.

And now, for something completely different !

4. Special thanks !

This project funded for one year by the Sapientia foundation. Without them there wouldn't be this project.
And now the team:
Dezso Gabor
Szasz (ex. Mihaly) Katalin
Szasz Pal
Thanks goes to:
Mihaly Imre
Mihaly (ex. Lakatos) Ildiko

And finally but not least:
Many thanks for the Sourceforge foundry!
