This is version 0.5 of kmasqclient.

It is an almost complete mserver client for KDE 2.

When run it docks into the system tray and provides information about the connection in it's main window, and through the system tray icon.

When not connected to an mserver both "monitors" of the icon are red. When connected to an mserver and offline the bottom "monitor" of the icon is green, and the top is red. When connected to an mserver and the mserver is trying to go online the top "monitor" is yellow. When connected to an mserver and online both "monitors" of the icon are green.

Known issues

If the connect script fails kmasqclient can breifly show the link to be up before showing it to be down. Although this only seems to happen if kmasqclient initiated the dial.

Bugs/Issues reported

Jonathon Sim: kmasqclient 0.4 fails to compile on a clean Mandrake 8.0 beacuse it has qt compiled without

kde support.

This should now be fixed (0.5).

History

0.1 Initial release, can do basic things and is able to save/load it's config.

0.2             Added User authentication, dial/hangup lock/unlock.
                        Lots of small internal changes and greater use of KDE's built in features is made.

0.3             Added better internationalisation support.  Disconnecting from the mserver is now done by the client,
                        not by the mserver.  Tool tips have been added to alot of the widgets in the main window.  The push
                        buttons for dial/connect/lock etc have been replaced by a toolbar.  A dialing state has now been added.

0.4             Added connection info feature, kmasqclient now has it's own icon.  The system tray and main window menus
                        are now the same.  The names of clients connected is now displayed in the server info window.

0.5             Added data speed Kb/Sec info to the main window.  Fixed compilation problem for qt compiled without kde support.
                        The "Connection info..." window is now prefixed with a connection name.  Added an option to ignore the first
                        socket error. Cleaned up some of the code.
