Beepage for Windows 1.08

INSTALLING

To install Beepage, create a folder then copy beepage.exe into that folder. Beepage creates two files in its folder: names.txt and address.txt. Names.txt keeps track of recently paged people. Address.txt holds the information for the address book.

Beepage also adds this entry to the Windows Registry: //HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/ RSUG/TP/1.08. This is used to keep track of the options selected.

REQUIREMENTS

A connection to a server that recognizes the Text Page Protocol service. This is usually located under port 6661. This can be changed under the settings menu.

OTHER

Beepage has been succesfully tested on Window NT 4.0, 98, 2000. For Windows 95, you will may need to update to Winsock 2.0. You can do that from Microsoft's web site at:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows95/downloads/contents/wuadmintools/s_wunetworkingtools/w95sockets2/?RLD=114

NOTES

  • Running Beepage with less than a 16-bit color desktop results in ugly dithering for the background color.
  • The Address Book is recent and has not been thoroughly tested.
  • An html help file and installer will be created.

CONTACT INFORMATION
