This is the README for lperfex version 2.0. This version requires perfctr 2.0; newer version may work as well, but this has not been tested.
lperfex is a non-invasive command line interface to the performance counter services provided by the perfctr library and patch to the Linux kernel (http://www.csd.uu.se/~mikpe/linux/perfctr/). It does not require special compilation or insertion of instrumentation code into your program. It also provides a limited number of performance metrics, depending on which events are counted.
