URGENT REQUEST:
Please tell me what "sensor chips" Santafu offers to you (if it works of
course), so that I can extend the list of tested sensor chips and tested
mainboards.
Read 3.) Useful information.
You can write a mail to <zwickmich@users.sourceforge.net>
1.) REQUIREMENTS:
- Linux with KDE (or at least: have the KDE and Qt libraries installed) (KDE = 3.x and Qt = 3.x)
- have lm_sensors installed (may be in a package called "sensors", or similar) - loaded the kernel modules for your board (run "sensors-detect" as root and follow the instructions)
- if you have the source code of Santafu you will need several developer packages of some libraries (eg. kdelibs-devel, libz-devel)
2.) INSTALLATION:
Read the INSTALL file.
Short description:
- tar xfz santafu-0.2.x.tar.gz
- cd santafu-0.2.x
- ./configure (possibly --prefix=$KDEDIR)
- make
- make install (as root)
3.) USEFUL INFORMATION:
You will find a list of tested boards and sensor chip in the file TESTED-HARDWARE.
- NOTE
- On untested boards Santafu may crash right after startup. (very unlikely, but you never know :-/ )
If you can run Santafu on other boards and other chipsets please write
a mail to <zwickmich@users.sourceforge.net>, containing the boards
manufaturer, its' name, chipset name and used kernel modules for the hardware
sensor.
Example:
Manufacturer: ABIT
Name : KT7-Raid Chipset : VIA686a Modules : via686a, i2c-isa
4.) REPORTING BUGS:
Two ways:
- http://sourceforge.net/projects/santafu -> Bugs -> Submit New or
- mail to <zwickmich@users.sourceforge.net>
Be as precise as possible.
5.) KNOWN BUGS:
I did not detect even one :-)
But I think, that Santafu will not show values for temperatures and fan speeds on some chips. I you encounter this, please write a mail to me, so that we can solve this.
Did you detect a bug? -> see 4.) Reporting bugs
6.) THANKS TO...
- Teddy Wong for helping to correct some things with w83627hf sensor chip.
- Michael Mueller for helping to correct some things with as99127f sensor chip
- Ronny Klauck for helping to correct some things with it87 sensor chip.
- and to everyone who reported bugs and tested boards and chips.
7.) CONTACT:
