Gryphon

n : winged monster with an eagle-like head and body of a lion
         [syn: griffin]

-- from WordNet (r) 1.7.

***************************************+-- # DRAMATIC UPDATE!! THE DEATH OF GRYPHON?: ***************************************+-- Development of GryPhon has been SO SLOOOOOW the last year, that I'm just about ready to call it dead. It works pretty well for what I use it for, and I'm okay with having to exit and restart GryPhon when loading a new disc, and other peculiaritys, and besides, with the new features in Gtk2 most of GryPhon's code is pretty obsolete, and could be programmed much more effeciently now.

So if GryPhon were to survive, it would be as a complete rewrite in Gtk2. And I'm not really up to that right now.

As a positive node (if you like music), most of my time have been spend on a reason / rebirth like 'music-studio' with audio, midi and effects capabilities, also in Python (Python rocks!).

***************************************+-- * GryPhon and Gdkxft:
***************************************+-- GryPhon's use of the clist when doing formatting, doesn't exactly please the GTK-CList widget do to its (stupid) way of handling refreshes.

Therefor, GryPhon (using formatting) and Gdkxft don't really go well together.

And because GryPhon changes it's window-title constantly, so far there is no way to fix it other than to run GryPhon with full path instead of through 'gryphon'. So the way to run GryPhon together with Gdkxft is: '/usr/local/gryphon/GryPhon.py'

***************************************+-- * Notes for this release: (0.2.9.9)
***************************************+-- None.

***************************************+-- * Installation:
***************************************+-- See the INSTALL file.
HINT: It's NOT configure && make && make install

***************************************+-- * Author:
***************************************+-- All of GryPhon was written by Christian Storgaard <cybolic@goth.net>. Except: See CREDITS.

***************************************+-- * Web:
***************************************+-- GryPhon's homepage is at http://gryphon.sourceforge.net . HINT: http://gryphon.sf.net also works ;) .

***************************************+-- * Known Bugs:
***************************************+-- 1. It's not really a bug, but a track with a title containing ", " (including

the quotes), will be parsed incorrectly by the Xtr-code, and thus, create wrong track titles when using formatting.

See TODO.GryPhon for more about bugs and the likes.
