GtkSigGen Version 0.0.1 11/03/1999

Hi there, and thanks for trying this program!

I think the "INSTALL" file should detail the installation of this package. Although I wouldn't recommend actually installing this because it's not done yet. The best thing to do would be(from the main directory):

'./configure'
'make'

Then just run the binary in the "src" directory. './src/gtksiggen'

Requirements

ALSA
You need to have the ALSA sound drivers AND the ALSA libraries. I think most of the 0.4.x driver versions should work. I'm pretty sure this won't work with the 0.3.x versions. The modifications needed aren't much but I just haven't done them yet.

GTK+ 1.2.x
You need the GTK+ libraries. Anything over 1.2.0 should work fine.

Testing and other issues:

I have only tested this with 2 sound cards, the Creative Labs SB32(CT3600) and the Ensoniq AudioPCI(ENS1371). I don't know why it wouldn't work with other cards but I don't have any to test. In the Global settings menu, I have removed the lock buttons. I had planned to include these features but in implementing them I decided they were more trouble than they were worth. If someone REALLY wants these I can try to put them in, but I don't think they are very useful. Changing the sample rate on the fly works for the most part but sometimes exhibits strange behaviour.

I think that's it for now. If you have any questions, comments, flames, etc. please feel free to email me.
