Welcome to matgen-0.3

matgen is free software. Please see the file COPYING for details. For documentation, please see the files in the doc subdirectory. The INSTALL file contains general GNU/autoconf intallation guidelines.

INSTALLATION

        matgen uses the GNU building tools (automake & autoconf) and requires 
        no additional libraries to run, so if you got the source tarball 
        distribution, follow these commands:

        tar -xvzf matgen-xxx.tar.gz     
        cd matgen-xxx
        ./configure
        make
        make install

        This should compile and install matgen with no problems.
        
        Default instalation paths for the compiled source code are:
        /usr/local/bin                  -> executables
        /usr/local/share/matgen         -> sample data
        /usr/local/man/man1/            -> man page

        For the rpm distributions, just issue a command like:

        rpm -ivh matgen-xxx.rpm

        matgen comes with a quite complete man page, so please see it 
        for any information you need to use the program. An online manpage,
        more info and examples for matgen can be found at 
        its homepage http://matgen.sourceforge.net
