1- Goals:
Bayani is aimed at a short term to be a "Scientific Quality" Graph Plotter totally in Arabic. This is done by implementing an arabic GUI and a total arabic strings handling: Axis labels, plot titles etc. It is written in Trolltech's QT 3.x library (which supports natively Unicode) and destined to the nx platforms.
Bayani will contain many features besides 2D data plotting. The main ones are:
a- Functions plotting (by implementing a built-in interpreter).
b- Data Fitting.
c- Symbolic Computation: Function derivation for example. The originality is the TOTAL arabic framework.
d- 3D Plotting.
e- Displaying FITS format (which is an astronomical data image format).
f- A small scripting language in Arabic in order to easy repetitive tasks: Redraw a graph if the data has
changed for example.
g- Many others tiny features...
So at a long term, the goal is to provide a Free Powerful Scientific ToolKit for the Arabic community. Bayani would then be used indistinctively by High-School Students, University Students, Researchers, etc...
