What is serel?
Serel is software that makes a computer boot faster.
serel provides synchronisation services to the operating system startup process. Unrelated services can be started in parallel, allowing the system to boot as quickly as possible.
serel allows the boot-time of a system to be traced to a specific set of dependencies amongst services.
Why the name serel?
The name "serel" derives from "SErvices-and-RELationships". Explicit dependency relationships allows services to be safely started in parallel.
What platforms does serel support?
The core software is highly portable.
Patches have been written to hook serel into the following
- platforms
-
- redhat 7.x
serel is free software, distributed under the GNU Public License, Version 2. Please see the file COPYING for details.
