installation

1. make

   (on linux this is optional for there's a binary in a tarball)

2. cp phyllotaxis /usr/local/bin

   (other path in PATH will do, e.g. ~/bin)

3. gentoo: cp phyllotaxis.xml /usr/share/control-center/screensavers debian: cp phyllotaxis.xml /usr/share/xscreensaver/config

   other distros: you'll have to figure path to xscreensaver config xmls, and remind me to fix this README. try:

locate epicycle.xml

or

find /usr/ -name epicycle.xml

4. vi ~/.xscreensaver
add line (including 2 leading spaces)

GL: phylotaxis -root \n\

to the list of programs.

5. xscreensaver-demo
select phylotaxis, click setup or preview or whatever.

Evo says it sometimes doesn't work in xscreensaver-demo but i can't reproduce that.
