lortug 1.0:
Lortug (Losts Of Ridiculous Toolbars Using Gtk+) creates customized toolbars that can have shell commands attached to their components. These commands can also use information supplied by edit/combo boxes on the toolbar, filename dialogs or other shell commands. Lortug also has some built in commands that affect its state and other commands. All of this is acccessed via a very simple scripting language. Lortug used to be nkown as "ControlFreak" but due to trademark issues the name was changed.
- Installation
After unpacking the archive one goes through the usual steps:./configure make make install Note that you will probably have to be root in order to complete the final step. See INSTALL for more detailed instructions.
- Documentaion
For info on running Lortug and configuring toolbars please see the files in the doc subdirectory of this distribution (these files are also installed to (prefix)/share/Lortug/doc when "make install" is run). There are also sample scripts in the samples subdirectory (these files are also installed to (prefix)/share/Lortug/samples when "make install" is run).
Bug reporting, etc:
Bug reports, feature requests, and patches should be directed to swizin@user.sourceforge.net. Lortug is not under active development by me currently, it's reached a point where it's stable (at least on my system: mandrake 8.0 on x86) and does what I want it to. Having said this my best suggestion for getting a new feature added is to do it yourself and send me a patch. I I will be fixing bugs (as long as they aren't specific to some platform other than linux on x86) so bug reports are welcome (patches are more welcome though).
I know that lortug compiles cleanly using gcc-2.95.2 (and the accompanying libstdc++) and GTK-- 1.2.5 on mandrake8.0(intel). If you get it to compile on another platform I would like to hear about it.
Finally, if you want to send me an email letting me know that you
find lortug useful that would be cool too.
