<span style="font-style: italic;">Part 1: Extract</span><br>
<br>
First untar the gsystem7.xxxx.xx.xx.tar.gz file <br>
<br>
<span style="font-style: italic;">Part 2: Install</span><br>
<br>
<span style="font-style: italic;">Part 2 - 1: Install themes</span><br>
<br>
It is possible to 'drag-and-drop' the themes into the GNOME theme manager but this doesnt always produce the desired result, below details the way to install the themes and have theme 'just work',<br>
<br>
Once the file is untar go into the gsystem7 folder and you will see the
following folder (see image below)<br>

GTK: in the GTK folder copy the gystem7-gtk foler to your systems themes folder /home/'you'/.themes<br>
<br>
Metacity: in the Metacity folder copy the gSystem7-metacity foler to
your systems themes folder /home/'you'/.themes<br>

Icons: in the Icons folder copy the gSystem7-icon foler to your systems
themes folder /home/'you'/.icons<br>
<br>
Background: open up the GNOME Desktop Backround Preference and add the
image gSystem7_3_white.png thats located inthe backgronds folder and
set the solid colour backround to colour: #6981A2.<br>
<br>
Metatheme: in the Metatheme folder copy the gSystem7-metatheme foler to
your systems themes folder /home/'you'/.themes<br>
<br>
Firefox: Open Firefox and go to <a
href="https://addons.update.mozilla.org/themes/moreinfo.php?application=firefox&version=1.0&os=Windows&numpg=10&id=131">https://addons.update.mozilla.org/themes/moreinfo.php?application=firefox&version=1.0&os=Windows&numpg=10&id=131</a><br>
and click the Install Now button, which automatically downloads and
installs the theme.<br>

NOTE: the .themes and ,icon folder are in your home directory, if you
cant see them in Nautilus, select the View menu and select SHow Hidden

folders and launchers</span><br style="font-style: italic;">

In the gSystem7 folder go to the Folders directory<br>
<br>
Desktop: in the Desktop folder copy the 3 icons to your desktop and arrange them as you like<br>
<br>
Home directoy: in the Home directory folder copy the 2 icons into your
home directo (/home/'you')<br>

<span style="font-style: italic;">Part 3: Configure GNOME<br>

Part 3 - 1: Configure the theme<br>
<br>
</span>Open up the GNOME theme manager and select the theme
gSystem 7 (see image below)<br>

if you have followed the above steps eveything will just work.<br>

GNOME</span><br>
<br>
From the Applications menu select System Tools and then select Coniguration Editor (this is GConf, the GNOME configuration editor)<br>
<br>
In GConf browse to the /apps/nautilus/desktop (see image below) and
ensure that the following options <span
style="text-decoration: underline;">have</span> ticks<br>
<span style="font-style: italic;">home_icon_visible</span><br style="font-style: italic;">
<span style="font-style: italic;">trash_icon_visible</span><br style="font-style: italic;">
<span style="font-style: italic;">show_volumes</span><br> and ensure that the following options <span style="text-decoration: underline;">dont have </span>ticks<br>
<span style="font-style: italic;">computer_icon_visible</span><br style="font-style: italic;">
<span style="font-style: italic;">document_icon_visible<br>
</span><br>
and close GConf when this is confirmed<span style="font-style: italic;"><br>
