PyGCID - A CallerID application written in Python.

PyGCID (That's (Py)thon G(tk) (C)aller (ID)) will read the numbers of incoming calls from an external program that communicates with some kind of telephone hardware. It will store the number in a small database and display a popup window with the number and time, together with information about the number that you insert into the database.

It can also dial the numbers in the database, using an external program such as dtmfdial.

For installation instructions, refer to the INSTALL file included in the distribution.

The latest version of PyGCID is available from http://www.lysator.liu.se/~forsberg/hacks/pygcid

The author of the program (Erik Forsberg) is reachable by email as forsberg@lysator.liu.se .
