xgsm is a Gnome-based GUI to the functions of the gsmlib library. With xgsm you can edit/backup/manage your mobile phone's phonebook and SMS entries. You can also send and receive SMS messages via your mobile phone using your computer.
The current release is version 0.2. Manipulation of the phonebook and SMS stores on disk and on the phone works as well as SMS sending. Missing is still
- Handling incoming SMS while xgsm is running
- Log of incoming and outgoing SMS messages
- SMS "chat" window
- Undo/Redo functionality while editing the stores
- Copy and paste between stores
- Port to Gnome 2
Apart from that the software is already useful and should not contain many bugs.
