xmms-kde <http://xmms-kde.sourceforge.net>

xmms-kde is a MP3-player panelapplet for the KDE panel (kicker). it is not only useful for remote controlling xmms, but also noatun and it even comes with a builtin MP3 player.

you can configure xmms-kde to show you the title of the song that is just starting. for most actions (e.g. start, stop, next track) you can define keyboard shortcuts. last but not least, it comes with some nice themes to match your desktop. if you want to design your own theme, refer to the theme design document in doc/themes.txt (it really isn't hard to do...). please send your finished theme to me (tranqlzer@users.sourceforge.net) :-)

If you want to compile xmms-kde refer to the installation instructions in the file 'INSTALL'. (Most of the time, installing is ./configure, make, make install, sometimes with passing arguments to ./configure such as --with-qt-dir=/path/to/qt/dir)

When you finished installing xmms-kde, right-click on your KDE panel and select add->applet->xmms-kde. if xmms-kde isn't coming up, you can try and launch xmms-kde from inside a terminal, typing: 'appletproxy <path-to-your-kicker-desktopfiles>/xmms-kde.desktop'

If you don't know where your applet dektop files are located, try 'locate xmms-kde.desktop'

If everything fails, send email to tranqlzer@users.sourceforge.net
