This is still work in progress. Stable enough for general desktop use.
There is currently no configuration, just make sure jackd is running, and then run oss2jack.
oss2jack creates the dynamic device node /dev/sound/dsp. You will need to manually create a symlink from /dev/dsp to /dev/sound/dsp on some distributions.
I have tested oss2jack with the following applications, and they behave quite well:
- mplayer
- artsd (and thus all the kde applications)
- xmms
- Macromedia Flash
- Requirements
- Jack audio connection kit
- a devfs enabled kernel
- fusd ( http://www.circlemud.org/~jelson/software/fusd/ )
- libsamplerate ( http://www.mega-nerd.com/SRC/ )
WARNING: I have not yet tested oss2jack on the 2.4 series kernel. Currently I am using a self-created 2.6 fusd patch: http://fort.xdas.com/~kor/oss2jack/fusd-1.10-2.6.0.patch )
