- Fact0r-X is small Linux/Mac OS X utillity for encrypting/decrypting easy textfiles.
The encryption algorithm is based on two passwords given by the user. Fact0r-X also uses perl's crypt function.
***IMPORTANT***
DO NOT FORGET YOUR ENCRYPTION PASSWORDS OTHERWISE YOU WONT BE ABLE TO DECRYPT YOUR TEXTFILE. Fact0r-X CAN NOT RETRIEVE ANY LOST PASSWORDS.
- USE
- -Fact0r-X v2.02 compared previous versions (1.00) is a perl script instead of a binary and so perl programming language is required on the system. -Simply go to the directory containing the script and execut it using the cmd <./fx2.pl> . -Once you are in the script you have four options to select from. These are [ Encrypt - Decrypt - About - Quit ]. When you want to encrypt/decrypt a textfile you have to enter the complete path of the textfile + file extension to be encrypted/decrypted. -The OUTPUT encrypted/decrypted file is not necessary to exists , Fact0r-X can create it/overwrite it during the encrypt/decrypt process.
