This program is a graphical interface to NBTscan written in GTK+ 2.0. This release was built to work with NBTscan 1.0.3. It should work with newer versions but features added after 1.0.3 may not be supported.

NBTscan is a program for scanning IP networks for NetBIOS name information. It sends NetBIOS status query to each address in supplied range and lists received information in human readable form. For each responded host it lists IP address, NetBIOS computer name, logged-in user name and MAC address (such as Ethernet).

To build xNBTscan, you will need the follow packages (or newer):

INSTALLATION.
$ bunzip2 xNBTscan-1.0.tar.bz2
$ tar -xvf xNBTscan-1.0.tar
$ cd xNBTscan-1.0
$ make
$ su
# make install
If you are not running Linux, it may be necessary to edit the Makefile first.
USAGE.
After it's installed and in your PATH, simply run: $ xnbtscan
