Compiling nTodo:

You need Gtk 1.2 to compile nTodo. Installation should be straightforward.

  1. Edit Makefile if necessary
  2. make
  3. make strip [optional]
  4. make install

Users must have their $HOME environment variable set. All task and todo lists are saved in $HOME/.ntodo as "todo.tasks" (for todo list) or "dd-mm-yyyy.tasks" (for daily task lists).

Using nTodo:

Upon running the program, you'll be presented with two tabs: Daily Tasks and ToDo. The Daily Tasks list is an append-only list of completed tasks performed throughout the day, for simple auditing of time management. Type a task into the entry field on the bottom and press enter. The ToDo tab holds a list of items to be completed. Type a task into the entry field on the bottom and press enter. By default, all tasks have an [Open] status. When a task has been completed, click on the [Open] button to change the status to [Closed]. When nTodo loads the todo list, it does not show old tasks with a [Closed] status, but all tasks are saved in the todo.tasks file.

Problems? Questions?

I've been using the program for quite a while without any problems, and although I went through and cleaned up some (but not all grin) of the code, there are no bugs that I know of. If you have a problem, find a bug, or would like to suggest improvements, send a message to <ntodo@theasylum.org>
