If the "Enable list of known applications" setting is greyed out, then you need to create the following boolean key in the Configuration Editor: /apps/panel/profiles/default/general/enable_program_list

Setting the Galeon user agent to Mozilla 4.78 or MSIE 5.0 can cause the Java plugin to crash.
