This program is used to download and install packages for Slackware
It is menu driven allowing the user to choose program options by entering number associated with menu choices. It creates the folder ~/.getpkg and stores configuration options and downloaded packages within that folder.
It requires Slackware and python
This software is release under the GPL liscence, and comes with no warrant whatsoever.
Enclosed are 2 programs:
getpkg - rewritten on 02-21-05 with dialog user interface
getpkg-installer - does actual work of installing packages & displaying
package descriptions
All future development will continue on the version with the dialog interface
To use any of these programs just chmod +x and then move file to somewhere in your path, then simply call it by name at a console prompt
